Theological Analysis
What we learn about God
God is steadfast in love and deals bountifully with those who trust in him, even when they experience feelings of abandonment. (Psalm 13:5-6)
Christological Connection
Jesus experienced abandonment on the cross, crying out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46). Yet, he ultimately trusted in his Father's plan, just as the psalmist does here. Jesus is a reflection of what the Lord is capable of overcoming.
