Theological Analysis

What we learn about God

God is the "Ancient of Days," the supreme, eternal, and holy Judge of the universe. His throne is a place of absolute authority and fiery judgment against the rebellious empires of men.

Christological Connection

Jesus is the "Son of Man." This is the primary text Jesus used to identify Himself. It proves His deity, as He is presented in the clouds (a divine prerogative) and receives global, eternal worship and dominion.

Systematic Theology

Eschatology and Christology. The chapter outlines the succession of human kingdoms (Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome) and the ultimate triumph of the divine Kingdom of the Messiah.

Law & Grace

The Antichrist figure (the little horn) attempts to change "times and law," showing ultimate rebellion. Yet, God graciously secures the final victory and eternal kingdom for "the saints of the Highest One," not by their power, but by His decree.

Personal Application

When looking at the chaotic, often terrifying political landscape of the world, believers must maintain absolute peace, knowing that God is on His throne and Christ's eternal kingdom will ultimately conquer all.
