Theological Analysis

What we learn about God

We learn about God's absolute holiness, glory, and sovereignty. "In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple." (Isaiah 6:1) This show that God is absolute and sovereign.

Christological Connection

John 12:41 states that Isaiah saw Jesus' glory in this vision: "Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him."

Systematic Theology

The passage teaches about the concepts of Divine Revelation, Human Sinfulness, and Atonement.

Law & Grace

The law is referenced in Isaiah's feeling of unworthiness, and grace is displayed when he is purified from his sin and guilt.

Personal Application

We should approach God with humility and reverence, acknowledging our own sinfulness and seeking His cleansing and guidance. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." (James 4:8)
